Manchester United among nine Premier League clubs chasing £20m-rated Strasbourg star

Erik ten Hag will be making plans to improve his Manchester United squad in the summer. That will mean selling players as well as bringing in new acquisitions. The latest name linked with a move to Manchester United is Strasbourg midfield ace Habib Diarra.

It will be a bonus to secure Champions League football. That will help attract elite players to club and the name on everyone’s lips right now seems to be Harry Kane. After another season without a trophy at Spurs, as well as missing out on the top four, it would make sense for the England captain to move on.

Ten Hag will also hope to make additions in midfield and defence, but a lot will depend on how much money he has to spend in the summer.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are one of nine current Premier League clubs who are keen on signing 19-year-old attacking midfielder Habib Diarra at the end of the season.

The French youth international has been a regular in Strasbourg’s XI and that has led to interest from a number of clubs in England.

Clubs reportedly interested in Diarra: Manchester United, Leeds, Man City, Aston Villa, Wolves, Tottenham, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

On top of that, Diarra is reportedly valued at £20 million.

In an ideal world, United would make two additions in midfield this summer. We need someone who can fill Casemiro’s void as a defensive midfielder, as well as someone renowned for carrying the ball through midfield play alongside the Brazilian.

Only time will tell if United are serious about Diarra.
