Antony names Manchester United teammate he spends most time with

Antony is enjoying life in Manchester and spending lots of time with one of his Brazilian counterparts.

The tricky winger, who followed Erik ten Hag to the club from Ajax last summer, has shown glimpses of brilliance in his first season at Manchester United and we’re confident the best has yet to come.

However, a lot of pundits have been harsh with their criticism of Antony, but we should take into account that this is his first season in the Premier League.

I’ve been more encouraged by his performances than anything… at least he shows a bit of fight – whether’s its a scrap or driving forward with the ball into attacking areas.

During an interview with club media (via ManUtd.com), the Brazil international reveals how he’s adapted off the pitch.

“I feel like I’ve settled in and grown accustomed to the city of Manchester,” Antony says.

“There are quite a few Brazilians here. Me and Casemiro are always hanging out, we’re always doing something.

“I’ve settled into the city and I’m loving life here. I hope I can spend a long time here.”

While Antony is close to Casemiro, Fred is another South American player who helped him settle at United — as well World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez. The winger is also careful enough to give a special mention to Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and David de Gea.

He added: “Definitely [knowing Casemiro, Fred and Martinez helped], and not just those guys, but Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot [have helped] as well.

“They’ve helped me a lot, as has our keeper, David [De Gea]. Having this support, being able to get advice from them, have them show me around and introduce me to things means a great deal.

“I’m really happy to have been welcomed in like this by all the players here.”

The full interview with Antony can be read in the latest issue of Inside United.

Hopefully he can add the FA Cup to his list of trophies at the end of the season. Along with a top four finish, that would be the icing on the cake.
