Man United team news: Ten Hag makes three changes for Wolves clash

As expected, Marcus Rashford hasn’t made the United squad for Saturday’s 3pm kick-off against Wolves, and he’s one of three changes that Erik ten Hag has made for the game.

The Sun reported on the manager’s words in his pre-match press conference when he noted that the England striker had a leg problem, so it’s no real surprise to see a front line that includes Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial with Wout Weghorst dropping to the bench.

He’s joined by Tyrell Malacia as we welcome back Raphael Varane to the centre of defence.

The XI has a bit of pace and creativity about it which is exactly what’s required against a Wolves side that were undone at Brighton and Hove Albion a short while ago but who are generally pretty solid for Julen Lopetegui.

David de Gea takes his place between the sticks with Varane partnered by Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw reverting to left-back with Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will be sat just in front of the back four as usual, with Martial up top ahead of a three comprised of Bruno Fernandes, Antony and Sancho.

There’s a little more balance with Shaw being moved back out to the left, and Sancho’s inclusion should allow Bruno to operate more centrally.
