Manchester United interest growing in Declan Rice

Manchester United’s interest in Declan Rice is growing ahead of the summer transfer window.

The West Ham midfielder performed brilliantly against Manchester United last week, when the Reds lost 1-0 on the road.

West Ham manager David Moyes has already admitted there is a ‘good chance’ Rice will be sold in the summer.

While Arsenal are still regarded as the England midfielder’s likeliest destination, The Guardian believes Manchester United will rival the Gunners for Rice’s signature.

Arsenal won’t want a bidding war for Rice because it has already been suggested that West Ham want at least £100m for their captain, who has one year left on his current deal.

The same report suggests that United are interested in Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic, although they would both cost less than Rice.

It feels hard to imagine United getting deals done for Rice and Harry Kane this summer, especially if the Glazers delay the sale process into the summer months.

Erik ten Hag is still waiting to find out how much he will have to spend on players this summer.
