Everton’s Jordan Pickford on Manchester United’s radar

Everton’s Jordan Pickford has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

David de Gea is set to sign a new contract at Manchester United, but the Spaniard could be phased out of the team next season with Erik ten Hag reportedly targeting a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Questions have been raised about the deficiencies in De Gea’s game; ball distribution, dealing with crosses and coming off his line.

Those questions intensified after a poor display in United’s Europa League exit in Sevilla and again in the 1-0 defeat against West Ham on Sunday.

In turn, United have been linked with an array of goalkeepers to compete for a No 1 role. Some of them include David Raya, Yann Sommer and Bart Verbruggen.

However, a new report from the Daily Star claims Ten Hag has now turned his attention to Everton’s Jordan Pickford, despite the 29-year-old signing a new deal at Goodison Park earlier this season.

Everton dropping out of the Premier League could be a plot twist in terms of Pickford’s future.

The Toffees are currently two points clear of the bottom three.
