Amad Diallo open to second loan spell at Sunderland after reaching play-offs

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is not ruling out a second season on loan at Sunderland.

The 20-year-old has been one of Sunderland’s best players this season after firing the Black Cats to the play-offs.

Amad joined on a temporary deal last August and has managed 13 goals in 37 Championship appearances.

The Ivory Coast international got on the scoresheet at the weekend when Sunderland beat Preston 3-0 to secure their place in the Championship play-offs where they will face Luton Town.

Erik ten Hag will be planning to take Amad to the United States for this summer’s pre-season tour, but the winger is not ruling out the prospect of staying at Sunderland.

“Playing against Luton is very hard but I hope we’ll be in the Premier League next season and maybe I’ll come back, I don’t know,” Amad said following Sunderland’s important win on Sunday, as quoted by The Metro.

Amad has helped raise the standards at Sunderland and, if they are to secure promotion to the Premier League, maybe it would be a good idea to let him stay there for now.

That said, I’m sure there are people that want to see Amad back in Manchester next season. Even if it is to give us something different from the bench.

  1. Unless he’s guaranteed of reasonable game time at Utd it’ll be better for the young man to continue d ping at Sunderland. It’ll be sad to see a repetition of what happened to Henderson under Ole.
