Manchester United players get time off after West Ham defeat

Erik ten Hag has decided to give his players some time off after their 1-0 defeat against West Ham on Sunday.

Manchester United have faced a gruelling schedule this season, but we can now look forward to a free midweek without any games to prepare for before facing Wolves at the weekend.

According to The Athletic, Ten Hag is giving his squad two days off to recharge their batteries ahead of a crucial end to the season.

It makes perfect sense to do this because since the World Cup we’ve had on average one game every 3.8 days. No wonder the players appear completely jaded by the time the half-time whistle is blown in games of late.

This is the first week since Christmas that we don’t have a midweek fixture, excluding the international break which involved many of our players.

With fatigue being a clear issue in the team right now, Ten Hag is right to let the players rest up until Wednesday when they will start preparing to host Wolves.
