Manchester United offered £130m for Barca starlet now available for £87m

Manchester United will be in the transfer market for attacking talent in the summer.

Erik ten Hag won’t know how much Manchester United have to spend until we know more about the potential takeover. If the Glazers remain, it’s going to be difficult to land his primary targets like Harry Kane.

However, we’ve also been linked with Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati, as per Sport.

Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo claims the youngster wants to stay at Barcelona, but the La Liga giants find themselves in a sticky situation because they can only sign players after selling current stars.

The Spanish newspaper also mentioned that United offered €150 million (£130m) to sign Fati in the past, but that enquiry was shut down.

Fati is no longer seen as an important member in the squad due to injuries that have stalled his development.

It is thought that Barcelona could look to sell Fati for less money than what they rejected previously. A fee of €100m (£87m) has been touted as enough to prize Fati away from Barca.

The Spain international has directly contributed 10 goals under Xavi, but he has started just 11 games in La Liga.

It’s still a lot of money to spend on a player who appears pretty injury prone.
