Erik ten Hag suggests Alejandro Garnacho could return against West Ham

Erik ten Hag has suggested that Alejandro Garnacho could make his return from injury on Sunday against West Ham.

This is fantastic news for a team that has been lacking goals and I think it goes without saying that we’ve missed Garnacho’s spark – even as a substitute.

The 18-year-old has become a regular in the first team this season and was rewarded with a new contract last week.

However, Garnacho has been out with an ankle injury since early March and has missed a lot of football.

Speaking to journalists after Thursday night’s 1-0 defeat against Brighton, Ten Hag said he expected the young forward to play a role when his side travel to London at the weekend.

“I think it will be the same squad (as against Brighton), maybe Garnacho can be involved but we’ll have to see,” Ten Hag told reporters, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Hopefully Garnacho can come back with a bang because we need goals and having him as a threat should help for the remaining fixtures.
