Manchester United-linked starlet Jude Bellingham has finally chosen his next club

The race for Jude Bellingham appears to be coming to an end, with the youngster having reportedly chosen his next club.

After a year of ongoing speculation, it looks like the Bellingham transfer saga is going to be a lot more straightforward than initially imagined.

Manchester United were always believed to be one club in the race for his signature but behind the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Last month, it was announced that Liverpool were pulling out of the race for financial reasons, even despite Jordan Henderson’s and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s best efforts to lure the midfielder to Anfield. They’ll now be looking elsewhere on the market.

According to an update shared by Fabrizio Romano today, Bellingham has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid and the Spanish club are in talks with Borussia Dortmund to reach a transfer agreement ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Marca reports that Dortmund’s asking fee of €140 million is unlikely to be met, as Real are unwilling to budge on their offer of around €100-120 million.

Stretty News’ verdict

Personally, I’d have loved to see Bellingham at Old Trafford but I never really believed a deal would be reached. His price tag would’ve been way out of our budget, especially when we can invest that money in positions that need strengthening more this summer. As well as that, the links between him and United were never really that strong – I don’t think he was considering it.

At only 18, he’s undoubtedly one of the best players in world football already and has proven that on numerous occasions. I’d much rather he end up at Real than Liverpool or City, so fair play to him. Career-wise, it’s certainly an excellent choice.
