Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is nearing a return from a knee injury.

The Netherlands international sustained a knee injury in January and it was announced that he would miss the rest of the season.

Van de Beek has continued his recovery process at United and believes that a return to training on the pitch is imminent.

“I’m busy with my recovery after my injury and everything is going well,” Van de Beek told MUTV.

“It’s hard to give you a time but we have to see how everything goes.

“I’m doing a lot of gym work and getting closer to being on the pitch, which is positive. I’m not far away.”

There is a month left until the end of the season and it seems like a stretch to believe Van de Beek will be back in action before then.

Van de Beek has yet to prove himself as a Manchester United player and there will be question marks over his future this summer.

The Dutchman’s time in England has not gone as planned.
