Harry Kane could be offered captaincy at Manchester United

It’s incredible speculative but journalist Dean Jones has suggested that Manchester United could make transfer target Harry Kane their future captain.

Kane has been subject to heavy speculation over his future and it doesn’t help that Manchester United will be in the transfer market for a new centre-forward in the summer.

In turn, the 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kane has been loyal to the cause at Tottenham throughout his career, but is it now time to move in search of trophies? He needs to think about his future now – or let his current deal expire.

According to The Telegraph, United have started the process of trying to sign Kane in the summer, with the north London club demanding £100m if a Premier League club wants to sign their captain.

Meanwhile, Dean Jones has suggested that Kane could even be made captain at United, considering he’s led his club and country on so many occasions in the past.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “Kane is the captain of England, he’s captain of Tottenham, what’s to say he couldn’t be captain of United?

“Obviously, you’ve got to be careful around that as you don’t want to rock the boat and upset Harry Maguire, David De Gea, Bruno Fernandes, or whoever feels that they have a right to be United captain next season.

“But, if you’re signing Kane, I think you have to give serious consideration to whether he’s a contender to have the armband.”
