Three players doubts: Ryan Mason provides Spurs’ team news for midweek United clash

Ryan Mason has provided a team news update for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Manchester United.

The match will be a pivotal one in this season’s top-four race, as Spurs currently sit sixth and United, fourth. Six points separate the sides, though the London club have played two more matches.

Bouncing back is crucial for Spurs as their last outing was nothing short of an embarrassment; they lost 6-1 to Newcastle United with five goals coming in the opening 21 minutes.

The defeat led to interim manager Cristian Stellini being relieved of his duties, with Mason taking the reins until a permanent successor is sought.

The players have since decided to reimburse their travelling supporters after the poor showing and have pledged to correct matters tomorrow night.

Mason addressed the media prior to Thursday’s 8.15pm kick-off in North London and confirmed that Hugo Lloris is nursing a muscle injury, so he is currently a doubt to take his usual spot between the sticks.

As well as the Frenchman, Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet will need to be assessed during Tottenham’s training session this evening to determine their fitness.

Emerson Royal and Rodrigo Bentancur are more long-term absentees, whilst Lucas Moura will be available for selection after serving a three-match ban.
