Erik ten Hag revealed a positive update on Alejandro Garnacho’s fitness at a press conference on Wednesday.

The U-20 Argentina international has been out of action since early March with an ankle ligament injury.

While Ten Hag has ruled Garnacho out of Thursday’s game against Tottenham, there is some positive news on the youngster’s fitness after he returned to training on grass.

Ten Hag told reporters (via Manchester Evening News): “Garnacho is back on the pitch but he’s not ready for the game tomorrow.”

The manager never gave a specific date for Garnacho’s return, but it is clear he is making progress on the fitness front.

It’s unclear if he will be available for the game this weekend against Aston Villa, too.

As well as getting Garnacho back into the squad, one would think that the club will working on getting the forward to sign a long-term contract at the club.

We won’t want to be losing a talent like Garnacho anytime soon.
