Fulham striker Mitrovic banned for eight matches after red card against United

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been handed an eight-game ban for his red card against Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Mitrovic was dismissed after losing his cool when he grabbed referee Chris Kavanagh. In turn, he received a three-match ban, but that has now been extended by a further five matches for violent conduct towards a match official.

There was another slap on the wrist for using language deemed “improper, abusive, insulting and threatening.”

This ban came with a £75,000 fine.

Having already missed one match, Mitrovic will have to sit out the next seven games.
