Fred and Martial to start: predicted Manchester United line-up vs Brentford

Manchester United will be attempting to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday as the Reds welcome Brentford to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s men are experiencing a painful run of form, which has seen them fail to win any of their previous three matches in the Premier League.

Additionally, United have failed to score in all those three games – a run that equalled a series of three games without a goal in February 2020.

After being in a somewhat comfortable league position, United are now in the thick of a race to qualify for the Champions League and it absolutely paramount that the poor run comes to an end against Brentford.

Going into the game, there are a number of selection headaches Ten Hag will need to address. If Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still unavailable due to illness, the back four almost picks itself.

Further up the pitch, Fred is almost guaranteed to come back into the side after being limited to a brief cameo against Newcastle at the weekend. Marcel Sabitzer, who struggled in that game, is likely to be on the bench as a result.

Wout Weghorst has started 19 consecutive games since he joined that club – that’s every single game United have played since his arrival.

His relentless efforts have certainly left a mark and that was on display at Newcastle. He could be replaced by Anthony Martial, who did well on his return in that game.

Marcus Rashford is one of the first names on the team sheet and that will not change on Wednesday, with Antony expected to occupy the opposite flank.

Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Rashford, Fernandes, Antony; Martial

  1. Mctominy is the reason why we concede more goals due to lack of focus but he is a good player if playing for teams like leeds utd, westham utd, newcastle utd etc. Lack of more shooting in the team leads to rely on one man(rashford) to score though antony need to pull up his stocks in his game to be threat to defenders because our reliable striker wout don’t have that ability.
