Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Harry Kane ahead of the summer transfer window.

A new report from The Athletic claims members of Erik ten Hag’s staff are eager for the manager to sign the Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Frustration is growing around Wout Weghorst because he hasn’t been prolific enough in front of goal, but United are expected to address that in the summer when they try to sign an elite-level forward.

In turn, the Reds have been linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but it sounds like Kane will be our top target.

Kane has been tipped to leave managerless Tottenham, with England’s all-time record scorer out of contract in 14 months.

The report adds that United feel they have a good chance of landing the 29-year-old, who is still looking to win his first trophy as a professional footballer.

Kane has scored 21 goals in the Premier League this season and it goes without saying that he would be a big improvement on Weghorst.

The striker would have a better chance of winning trophies at United than Spurs. That said, we know that dealing with Daniel Levy is never straightforward.
