Newcastle plan guard of honour for Manchester United after Carabao Cup success

Newcastle are planning to give Manchester United a guard of honour on Sunday to recognise our Carabao Cup triumph last month.

February’s final at Wembley made for a fantastic day out, with memories made for a lifetime as United ended a six-year trophy drought.

Losing the final for Newcastle meant they are without a domestic trophy since 1955. The years are really kicking on, eh?

As reported by The Sun, this hasn’t stopped Newcastle giving the green light to a grand gesture to the Red Devils when they visit St James’ Park.

The idea was proposed by fan group Trophies Don’t Matter, which shamefully claims that Newcastle have the best fans in the world. I thought we told them last time you don’t get brownie points for congregating at Trafalgar Square.

This all means that Newcastle players will line up by the tunnel as United walk out. On top that, Eddie Howe will present Erik ten Hag will a plaque and flowers.

When the game kicks off it will be all about winning three points and strengthening our hold on the race for top four.

Newcastle will be out for revenge.
