Manchester United plotting £80m move for Premier League star

Harry Kane will be the subject of intense interest from Manchester United this summer as Erik ten Hag eyes the signing of a potent attacker to compliment his tricky wingers.

Kane, alongside Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen, has emerged as one of Ten Hag’s prime targets in what will be a highly interesting transfer window.

Strengthening the midfield was Ten Hag’s focus in his first summer window in charge but with that problem somewhat solves, it is likely he will now ask the club to sign a goalscorer.

It is an area United have struggled to fill for many years, with the signing of Robin van Persie in 2012 arguably being the last undeniable successful signing in that position.

Kane has one year remaining on his contract and that could present an opportunity for United to pounce but Tottenham are infamously difficult to deal with.

According to the Daily Star, Kane has now been earmarked as Ten Hag’s number one transfer target this summer and Old Trafford officials are said to have sanctioned the move.

As per the report, United’s interest is real and they are now preparing to make an £80m offer for Kane, who recently became the record goalscorer for both Tottenham and England.

Additionally, it’s claimed that United are not prepared to wait until the off-season to make their move for Kane, and will instead get the ball rolling as soon as possible.

The Reds are, however, aware that they will not be unrivalled in the race to sign Kane, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Barcelona all reportedly interested as well.

Ten Hag reportedly sees the signing of Kane as a turning point that could turn his side into Premier League winners and the player is said to be keen on challenging for trophies.
