Man United ‘obsessed’ with Victor Osimhen as Harry Kane stance reported

Manchester United are set to prioritise signing a new striker in the summer.

The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new frontman following the untimely exit of Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of last year.

Although Wout Weghorst has tried his best since he joined on loan from Championship club Burnley, the Netherlands international has managed just two goals in 18 games – numbers that are unlikely to see him become a permanent player next season.

Consequently, and with Mason Greenwood’s future still unknown, Erik Ten Hag will be forced into the next market in search of a new striker.

Although several top players are understood to be on the Red Devils’ transfer shortlist, including Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Roma’s Tammy Abraham, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Premier League giants have two clear favourites.

“Manchester United are still obsessed with Victor Osimhen, who almost joined them before moving to Napoli, but decided against it due to a lack of game time,” Jacobs wrote in his CaughtOffside column.

“Harry Kane has also been discussed internally, but it all still depends on the England striker. Spurs want him to extend and that had been Kane’s primary intention before Antonio Conte’s dramatic exit.”
