Sir Alex Ferguson has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
He, along with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, have become the first two managers named in the Hall of Fame, and it’s clear to see why.
Throughout his time in charge of Manchester United, Sir Alex lifted 13 Premier League titles and left the Red Devils head and shoulders above the rest of their competitors in the top division.
His 27-year tenure saw him pick up 528 wins out of the 810 matches he managed and he was subsequently named Manager of the Season 11 times.
Ferguson reacted to being an inductee via the club website.
“I’m truly delighted to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. It’s an honour when you receive recognition like this. However, it’s not just about me as a person. It’s about the job at Manchester United and the bond we had over many years, so I’m also proud for the club, the staff and my players.
“My job was to send the fans home happy. United’s history and my own expectations were the things that drove me, and I then had to try to develop all my players with the same expectations and make sure we could go out and achieve them.
“I feel Arsene is a very worthy inductee as he transformed Arsenal Football Club fantastically. They became a tough team to compete with and we both wanted to win, which motivated us further. Through the years since retirement, we’d go for dinner together in a little restaurant he knows well in Switzerland. He is a really interesting man and I enjoy his company, but it is still my job to pick the wine!”
Two legends who helped define the Premier League.

Here’s to you, Alex Ferguson…
The Scot is deemed one of the best things to ever happen to United, as the success and glory he brought to Old Trafford were unlike anything seen before in England. He set the club on a pedestal that is simply incomparable to the rest of football and he retired as the greatest manager of all time.
Sir Alex holds a special place in every Reds’ heart, whether they witnessed his triumphs or were told the stories. It’s only right that he became one of the first to receive the special honour.
