Ansu Fati receives assurances after being offered to Manchester United

There has been whispers that Manchester United were offered Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati ahead of the summer transfer window.

Just two years ago, the young Spanish attacker was seen as one of the brightest prospects in Europe, but injuries haven’t been kind to the 20-year-old.

In turn, Fate has been struggling to hold down a starting role in the Barcelona team, hence why the Spanish media reported his value at the club had dropped with him being offered to Manchester United and others as a way to make money.

According to Cadena Ser, Fati is going nowhere this summer.

There was a meeting on Monday between the player’s father, Bori Fati, and Barcelona directors Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff.

It is suggested that Barca ‘reassured’ Fati’s dad that the winger will be an important player in the squad, so they do not want to consider selling him.

Cadena Ser don’t shy away from reports linking Fati to other clubs like United. They point out that stories claimed Jorge Mendes had been offering his client around to clubs throughout Europe.

It remains to be seen how Fati and Mendes react to Barcelona’s reassurances.
