David de Gea has his eye on more silverware this season

David de Gea stresses that Manchester United want to go all the way in the Europa League to win their second trophy of the season.

Manchester United booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals after beating Real Betis 5-1 on aggregate over two legs. Last night’s 1-0 away win provided more end-to-end action than we imagined after the first leg, but we overcame it and kept a clean sheet.

On top of that, Marcus Rashford scored the winner with a brilliant strike from distance.

The Reds can now look forward to Friday’s draw, which will reveal our quarter-final opponents, as well as potential teams for United in the semi-final and final, too.

United have already won the Carabao Cup this season, but De Gea has told MUTV that he and his team-mates want more silverware this season.

“Trophies are important for us,” said De Gea, as per ManUtd.com. “I think the manager has shown that, putting the strong team every game.

“We want to try to win the competition. We know there are still good teams, but we are confident, we believe in ourselves and let’s see what happens in the draw.”
