Manchester United outline Kane as one of ‘main options’ for summer but Spurs unwilling to oversee exit

Manchester United have set their sights firmly on Harry Kane as one of their “main options” this summer.

That is according to The Athletic, which confirmed the Red Devils’ interest in the forward after ongoing speculation.

However, the report also states that Tottenham Hotspur are unwilling to oversee the departure of their all-time top goalscorer.

Kane’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023/2024 campaign and Spurs have already opened talks with the England captain regarding an extended deal, though negotiations are not advanced as of yet.

If he is apprehensive to agree though, the club will likely want to avoid Kane leaving as a free agent at the end of next season and may be forced to listen to offers in the next transfer window.

Stretty News’ verdict…

Now that he’s secured the title of being Spurs’ top ‘scorer, Kane should really be pushing for a move.

Club records are one thing, but the 29-year-old is running out of time to add trophies to his honours list and given his exceptional talent, silverware is all he’s missing to go down in history as one of the best strikers in this day and age.

Things are also very up in the air at North London; Antonio Conte’s future is in question and finishing in the top four is an ongoing battle, meanwhile, Ten Hag’s project and United’s resurgence are well underway at Old Trafford.
