Alejandro Garnacho injury worse than initially feared with fresh doubts over Argentina call-up

There is some worrying news coming out of Argentina tonight regarding the injury Alejandro Garnacho sustained at the weekend in Manchester United’s scoreless draw with Southampton.

According to TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul, Garnacho underwent scans today and the injury is worse than initially expected.

If true, Garnacho won’t be in the Argentina squad for the upcoming international break.

Edul revealed the news on his Twitch channel and social media.

He tweeted: “Bad news. Alejandro Garnacho underwent studies and the injury is bigger than expected. The double date with the Argentine National Team would be lost. Now we extend it by…”

Garnacho has enjoyed an incredible breakthrough season at United and it would be a shame to lose him to a serious injury at this point of the season.

He has been a huge benefit to our attacking force this season and we can all see him developing into a world beater under Ten Hag.

Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, posted the tweet below captioned: “I know u will comeback stronger.”
