Reds throw in the towel: player ratings from Liverpool 7-0 Manchester United

Manchester United have been absolutely embarrassed at Anfield once more as Erik ten Hag’s first away trip to Liverpool ends with misery.

United were in flying form going into the game and held a massive 10-point lead over the bitter rivals but capitulated in the second half.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for the hosts shortly before half-time and as soon as the teams made their way back onto the pitch for the second half, the floodgates were open.

The second was swiftly followed by a third and before you knew it, Liverpool had inflicted Manchester United with their worst defeat in Premier League history.

Man United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 1
Eight shots on target, seven were goals.

Diogo Dalot – 1
Looked completely lost.

Raphael Varane – 1
Comedy stuff at times.

Lisandro Martinez – 1
Completely lost his head, at fault for several goals.

Luke Shaw – 1
Just like the rest of the team, he quit after the second goal.

Casemiro – 1
Unfortunately, his worst showing of the season.

Fred – 1
Not a lot of good to say about that.

Bruno Fernandes – 1
Spent most of the afternoon shouting at the referees and was very lucky not to be sent off after shoving the linesman.

Marcus Rashford – 1
Completely anonymous.

Antony – 1
Tricks in the first half, loose cannon in the second half.

Wout Weghorst – 5
At least he tried his hardest for as long as he was on the pitch.

  1. I would have accepted a 3-0 loss as a deserved humbling, but 7-effin-nil?? Comical! You cannot be losing to likely Klopp’s worst ever Liverpool team in years by such a score!

EtH has all our trust and all, but this is squarely on the players and manager! He can make them do 15k the next day, but he also has to wonder why the playing 11 did not stick to their plan.

  2. They should all donate their weeks wages to charity, they were a disgrace to the Club.
As for Bruno I do not think he is fit to be captain, another big match failed performance
