Alejandro Garnacho earns first call-up to Argentina squad

Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho has been named in Argentina’s squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Panama and Curaçao.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a terrific breakthrough season under Erik ten Hag and recently scored a wonderful goal in the 3-1 comeback win over West Ham, which has been compared to a Norman Whiteside classic by former player and coach Paul McGuinness.

After going from strength to strength at Manchester United, the forward has been called up to the Lionel Scaroni’s World Cup-winning side.

The friendly matches take place later this month.

However, after being born in Spain, Garnacho is also eligible to represent Spain.

Manchester United fans will hope to see Garnacho sign new terms to commit his long-term future to the club. And, one would think he would be foolish not to after earning a key spot in Ten Hag’s plans.

At Old Trafford he has a manager who will do wonders not only for his development as a football but a professional. Garnacho had some issues during the summer, but to his credit he took all the criticism on board and improved.
