Pundit moots exit for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been backed by pundit Frank McAvennie to leave the club this summer.

It would have been considered a safe bet three months ago, or even at the beginning of the season, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears to be one of a few players to have turned a corner under Erik ten Hag this season.

The right-back came on in the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Newcastle, replacing Diogo Dalot, who had been booked in the opening minutes for a foul that hardly warranted a telling off let alone a yellow card.

One pundit has claimed that there will be more transfer activity going on at United, with Wan-Bissaka tipped to be facing the exit door.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie had this to say when asked if he thinks Wan-Bissaka could be moved on in the summer should United look to sign a better option at right-back.

He said: “I think so. I think the fans are not happy with him. He has not set the heather alight, he comes in and has been lethargic.

“I think he can do better than what he has been doing. Whether that is something to do with the manager not believing in him I do not know.

“There is going to be movement. There are a few of them that are going to move on and it is time for a change. Ten Hag has got them all interested in Man United again.”

I think for a pundit, it’s pretty telling that McAvennie doesn’t watch a lot of United if he thinks fans aren’t happy with Wan-Bissaka.

Fans are a lot more happy than they were with Wan-Bissaka. I don’t think anyone could disagree with that.

  1. Bullshit. AWB is playing out of his skin at the moment. To sell him would be stupidity of the highest. Way better than Dalot.

  2. I totally agree with Tony, AWB has been excellent for Utd. Now he has added the forward threat to his game has only made him a better player. Why would you get rid of an excellent player.

  3. I normally wonder with the group called “Pundit” how can someone like Bissaka get disliked by fans, He is playing to his best and I personally love his way of playing, and nobody will hate him. Stop rumours that cannot help MU.

  4. To be frank, AWB any coach who let someone like Bissaka go, is not serious, This type of news only need Likes and Comments but no truth inside.

  5. Talking out his you know what.. AWB is one of the best right backs in the league right now..he needs to work on his marking of the back post but apart from that 1 on 1s he’s the best and his improved ability to go forward makes him class
