A sheepskin coat and microphone will be placed in John Motson’s old Wembley commentary position at Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
A fitting gesture to a commentator so many of us grew up listening to after becoming synonymous with English football after establishing a brilliant career in the game for over 50-years.
Motson died on Friday, aged 77, and fans have been invited to pay respect to the excellent BBC commentator at Wembley this weekend when his picture features on the big screens before kick-off.
A sheepskin coat and microphone will be placed in John Motson’s old commentary position at Wembley on Sunday. @EFL will also put up a photo of Motty on the big screens at 4.15 so #NUFC and #MUFC fans can applaud in memory of the late, great commentator. Lovely tribute 🙌 #EFLCup
