Marcus Rashford stresses draw at Camp Nou feels like a loss

Marcus Rashford’s incredible form continued at the Nou Camp on Thursday night and I seriously think we are speaking about the best player in the world right now.

The Manchester United forward scored our equalising goal before forcing an own goal shortly later to put us 2-1 ahead.

However, Barcelona came back and took advantage of some sloppy defending, with was to blame for both of the goals were conceded tonight.

“It feels like a loss,” Rashford told told BT Sport.

“I think we did well to get back in to the game. The first half was probably a little bit in favour of them. We stayed calm and composed.

“We tried to create chances and in the second half we scored two goals in quick succession. We felt in control of the outcome. But they’re a good team with top players so they managed to get an equaliser.

“We were searching for the chances, maybe because we were a goal behind, but we were really going for it and trying to score goals.”

Rashford was the star of the show and by far the most threatening player on the pitch. He played up front with Wout Weghorst in behind as the No 10. Ten Hag’s changes appeared to make sense as United match Barca in every department.

There was a defining moment in the second half that Rashford wasn’t willing to overlook. It looked like Rashford had been fouled on the edge of the box but it was completely ignored by the questionable referee, who went on to book Erik ten Hag for his angry reaction.

Rashford echoed the manager’s sentiments after the game, adding: “It’s a massive moment in the game. To be honest, I’ve not watched it back. But in the moment, I don’t understand why the linesman or the referee thinks I’m going down there. I’ve touched it past him and my foot is in front of the ball and he hits my leg. It’s clear contact. It’s 100% a foul for me.”
