Qatari investors confident Manchester United bid will blow competitions out of the water

Qatari investors will be in the running to buy Manchester United and they are keen to the process to reach a quick conclusion, which will be music to the Glazer family’s ears.

The Glazers announced their intention to welcome investment last November, with a strong likelihood that they would sell the club, with figures like £6 billion doing the rounds.

According to the Daily Mail, a group of private individuals based in Qatar will submit an offer to the Glazer family in the coming days.

The report adds that the Qatari group is confident their bid will blow any competition they face out of the water – while there has been suggestions from several corners that former Manchester United star David Beckham will front the bid.

We need to be careful here because the last thing any fan should want is United becoming a sportswashing project. The individuals from Qatar have anonymity for now, but they will need to waive that in order to get the majority of fans on board.

It is also stated that fan engagement is at the heart of their bid and they may seek the views of supporters when it comes to stadium development.

I would suggest keeping your eyes on the Qatari bid. There has been whispers about it since December.

  1. Not much the Daily Fail gets right, here’s praying they’re wrong again. If only option, I’d seriously rather have the Glazers.
