Mason Greenwood has spoken out for the first time since having all criminal charges against him dropped.
The 21-year-old had been the subject of an investigation over the past year and had been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October 2022.
Today, Greater Manchester Police confirmed that criminal proceedings have been discontinued by Crown Prosecution Service, meaning that Greenwood had been cleared of all charges.
Manchester United, who suspended the forward after the initial arrest, issued an update stating that they would begin their own internal investigation into how the allegations against Greenwood ended up being made before announcing any further steps taken regarding his future at the club. He will not return to training until this process has been completed.
He was also dropped by sponsor Nike and removed from FIFA gameplay last year.
Mason Greenwood’s statement

I’m so happy for this good news
Why should the club carry own investigations when criminal charges have been dropped by competent police wing?
Let the boy revive his career, if they are not interested, release him
Good news for united fans
Man utd shouldnt carry any investigation on Mason Greenwood when the police has dropped charges against him rather intergrating him into the team and bring in a physchologist and philso to help him forget the truama he under gone.
With all these groups. Against violence on women. And women ryts out there.
The club as to show they not just accepting the court judgment.
They want to be 100% sure he not guilty. So they don’t have them protesting against the club
why man u is doing these for lif these guy
I’d just like to know which Glazer will act as the judge, which one will be the jury, and which one will be the executioner. Charges were dropped, withdrawn – why put the lad through it all again – and why? United is NOT a court of law.
Since when can Manchester United carry out an internal investigation they have have no rights no charges mean he can’t be punished let the young man get on with his life and back to what he does best ⚽️
Let the boy play
Fantastic talent be punished for something he didn’t do
Leave the lad alone
Innocent until proven guilty
Come on, charges being dropped doesn’t make him innocent.
MU is a football club and run it as it is, none others.
