Manchester United are almost certainly going to the Carabao Cup final after Anthony Martial scored the opening goal in the second leg of their semi-final tie against Nottingham Forest.
Erik ten Hag’s men grabbed a 3-0 aggregate lead after the first leg and United have managed the second game well as they managed to disturb any momentum Steve Cooper’s men were looking to benefit from.
It has been a sombre affair for large parts but Ten Hag made a series of substitutions in the second half and United immediately looked more threatening.
Martial was one of the players to be introduced after roughly an hour and the Frenchman marked his return to the side with a goal, as seen below

Casemiro picked the ball up, passed it to Martial who had Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford on either side of him. The pass, aimed towards Rashford, ricocheted back to Martial who broke the deadlock.
Soon after, Fred would double United’s lead after some brilliant play by Fernandes and Rashford.
