Confirmed Manchester United XI to face Nottingham Forest – Ten Hag makes 6 changes for semi-final second leg

Erik ten Hag could be accused of not rotating enough, but he has made six changes to the starting line-up from Saturday’s 3-1 win over Reading in the FA Cup. Manchester United also go into tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest with a three-goal advantage, after winning 3-0 at the City Ground last week.

Tom Heaton starts between the posts when many expected Jack Butland to make his debut. The Crystal Palace loanee will have to wait for his chance to impress Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman has gone with a strong back four that consists of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw. With Casemiro sitting in front of them, Ten Hag wants to protect his defence in order to avoid conceding any silly goals.

Fred replaces the injured Christian Eriksen and he will be joined by Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Antony starts on the right, while Alejandro Garnacho attacks from the opposite flank. Wout Weghorst will lead the line.

Manchester United XI vs Nottingham Forest: Heaton; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Fred, Fernandes; Antony, Weghorst, Garnacho.
