Casemiro dazzles Old Trafford: player ratings from Manchester United 3-1 Reading

Manchester United are into the fourth round of the FA Cup after a comfortable 3-1 win over Reading at Old Trafford, with the Reds now waiting to discover their opponents in the fifth round.

The result means United remain the only team in England to still be competing in four competitions, having secured a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.

Erik ten Hag made sure not to leave anything to chance in the game against Reading as he named a near full-strength side for the game.

United were left frustrated at half-time after seeing Marcus Rashford’s opener ruled out by VAR. Tensions were eased soon after the interval, however, with Casemiro’s quickfire double giving the Reds some breathing space before Fred’s stylish finish wrapped it up.

Man United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 6
Barely had anything to do and could do nothing about the goal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6
Did what was required of him.

Harry Maguire – 7
A good performance by the skipper.

Victor Lindelof – 7
Matched his counterpart.

Tyrell Malacia – 7
Recovered from a tough pre-World Cup period and is now a viable option.

Casemiro – 10
It’s almost impossible not to give him a perfect rating after that performance. What a signing.

Christian Eriksen – 6
Keeps it ticking over.

Antony – 6
Still lacking in the decisive moments but definitely improving with each passing game.

Bruno Fernandes – 6
Did what he could against a resilient side.

Marcus Rashford – 7
At his typical best but only the goal was missing. The margins were fine.

Wout Weghorst – 6
A focal point and definitely adds a new dimension to the side.
