Fabrizio Romano claims Alejandro Garnacho contract agreement is close

Manchester United look to be closing in on an agreement for Alejandro Garnacho to sign a new long-term contract.

Although there was never any reason for sudden panic, Garnacho’s current deal expires at the end of next season, but Manchester United are looking to get their business done early as he is considered a player for the future.

When clubs like Real Madrid are knocking on the door, United can’t a player with this potential to go into the final year of his contract. That would only result in a saga that could easily hinder his development.

I mean, why would Garnacho want to leave United when he is getting so many minutes in the first team this season? Surely he can see that he has a bright future under Erik ten Hag and it’s something the club needs to support.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano expects Garnacho to remain at United for some time and believes that an agreement will happen soon.

“So for Garnacho, Man United feel they are close,” Romano told Give Me Sport. “Not a done deal yet, but they are confident.

“Man United are very optimistic, they have been speaking to Garnacho since the summer, because the first negotiations were in June. It then took some time to negotiate on the player side.”

I’m hoping Garnacho’s new deal is 5+ years! Let’s fight off any interest from Real Madrid because it’s inevitable at some point.
