Manchester United offer Donny van de Beek to Juventus in exchange deal

Weston McKennie in, Donny van de Beek out? I think we will see a lot of stories like this between now and the end of the season, simply because the Netherlands international could move on in the summer if he is willing to cut his losses at Old Trafford.

Donny van de Beek has been unable to replicate his performances for Erik ten Hag’s Ajax team in a Manchester United shirt since his 2020 transfer.

The 25-year-old has been overlooked by multiple managers and when he was given another opportunity earlier this month, the midfielder’s injury came to an abrupt end due to a nasty injury.

According to Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester United have offered Van de Beek to Juventus as part of a prospective deal to bring McKennie the other way this summer.

The report states Juventus value the American midfielder at €50 million (£44m), which, if true, means they wouldn’t do a straight swap for Van de Beek and we would have to fork out extra money to make this deal somewhat realistic.

I am of the opinion that United should cut their losses with Van de Beek (it’s not like he offers anything whenever he plays, which seems harsh but is true), but that doesn’t mean I think United should take any player in exchange for him.

On another note, McKennie looked very ordinary at the World Cup.
