Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined the race to try and sign Anthony Elanga in the January transfer window.
That is according to talkSPORT, which confirmed that both Everton and Bournemouth are also keen on acquiring the young prospect.
Elanga is an academy graduate at Manchester United and has not yet departed the club on loan, instead, he has progressed directly from the youth setup into the first team. The Sweden international has made 47 appearances for the Reds, scoring four and assisting three along the way.
Will Ten Hag oversee Elanga’s departure?
Given the breakthrough of 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho, who assisted the winner in the Manchester derby on Saturday, Erik ten Hag may be more inclined to allow Elanga to leave to gain valuable experience in a competitive league. It’s unlikely the manager would allow him to exit on a permanent deal.
For Elanga, Dortmund is likely a more attractive destination out of the three clubs, due to their current involvement in the Champions League and the fact they are renowned for developing young players.
