Marcus Rashford named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for December

Marcus Rashford has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for December 2022.

It likely comes as no surprise to United fans, as the 25-year-old has been in exceptional form across the campaign and specifically last month. Rashford has seven goals in his last six matches and is on 16 goals for the season so far.

He beat Casemiro and Luke Shaw to the award that was voted for by supporters over the past week.

Against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday, he levelled club legend Wayne Rooney’s record of scoring in eight consecutive matches at Old Trafford. He has the chance to level the record set by Dennis Viollet on Saturday if he scores in his ninth home match against Manchester City in the highly-anticipated derby clash and, given the fact he’s a Manchester-born academy graduate, Rashford will be licking his lips at the lucrative opportunity of etching his name into the history books against the noisy neighbours.
