It has been a good week for Manchester United – qualifying for the Carabao Cup semi-finals, while rivals Manchester City crashed out after losing 2-0 against Southampton.
The Reds dominated in their 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night and, as a result, Fred and Marcus Rashford were both named in the team of the round for the quarter-final stages.
Fred was handed his first start since the domestic season resumed after the World Cup. The Brazilian deserved the nod after impressing in several games after coming on as a substitute.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford came off the bench to continue his goalscoring form. He has now scored in eight consecutive home matches at Old Trafford and is to first player to achieve that since Wayne Rooney in 2010.
It was his 15th goal of the season and he will be hoping to add to his tally in the Premier League this weekend when Man City come to Old Trafford.
