Facundo Pellistri not keen on Watford loan move

Facundo Pellistri has been linked with a loan move away from Manchester United for the remainder of the season.

After making his competitive debut for Manchester United on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup, it emerged that Watford were interested in signing Pellistri on loan.

However, a report from The Athletic claims the Uruguayan is ‘not keen’ on the prospect of joining the Championship side this month.

Pellistri’s caught the eye in his short cameo against Charlton Athletic but it remains to be seen if he will be part of Erik ten Hag’s long-term plans.

La Liga outfit Valencia are another club thought to be interested in a loan move for Pellistri.

Stretty News verdict

Since Pellistri has already had two loans in Spain – at Deportivo Alaves – and he returned not knowing if he had developed as a player, I would try convince him to opt for a move to the Championship.

Maybe he prefers Valencia because he wouldn’t be against extending his stay beyond the end of the season.

The Championship is not a league I would be sticking my nose up at in Pellistri’s current situation. He needs to go somewhere and prove himself like Amad Diallo is doing at Sunderland.
