You can excuse younger fans for asking the manager of Manchester United to make unrealistic signings. That said, we’ve seen signings happen that were once deemed unrealistic with Robin van Persie being a good example.
Erik ten Hag produced a funny response when he was asked by a kid if he would sign Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
In a video on TikTok, the youngster asked: “Do you think you’re going to sign Jude Bellingham?”
“I want to, but…” replied Ten Hag, before being quizzed further. The follow up question was: “Or Mbappe?”
This is where it gets a tad unrealistic because another supporter added: “Can’t you get both?”
Ten Hag jokingly responded: “Have you some pennies for me?”
A fan then said: “We’ll find some pennies mate, you keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll find the pennies.”

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Bellingham is one of the hottest prospects in football right now, although it doesn’t sound like he will be moving to Old Trafford anytime soon. United tried to sign him from Birmingham City prior to his move to Germany and I question whether we would be successful in a new pursuit to sign the promising England international.
As for Mbappe, it would take ridiculous money to make that happen. United would definitely need new owners to make that a reality for Ten Hag.
