(Video) Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly sent off after brutal kick to chest

Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly was sent off just 15 minutes into Marseille’s match against Hyeres on Saturday afternoon.

Marseille hosted the fourth tier side in a Coupe de France tie and currently lead the tie 1-0 thanks to a goal from Alexis Sanchez before half-time. They haven’t been victorious in the competition since 1989 and have been runners-up on four occasions, but this season they will be hoping to go all to way to win it for an 11th time in their history.

Considering their impressive form in Ligue 1, Marseille went into the tie as favourites but they weren’t expecting to be reduced to 10-men after 15 minutes.

Hyeres attacker Moussa N’Diaya tried to launch a counter-attack but Eric Bailly had something to say about that…

The former Manchester United defender took down N’Diaya with a boot to the chest, as seen in the video below:

You can see why Bailly was immediately shown a red card by the referee.

N’Diaya couldn’t continue and required a stretcher to leave the pitch.

  1. Clumsy, rather than malicious. Ball was there to be won, which unfortunately Bailly spectacularly failed to do.
