Marcus Rashford has been rewarded for his incredible form after being voted Manchester United’s Player of the Month for December.
After returning from the World Cup, during which he scored three goals as a bit-part player for England, Rashford scored three goals in as many games for the Reds.
Erik ten Hag deserves a degree of credit for getting Rashford back to his best. This time last year under Ralf Rangnick, the 25-year-old struggled and lost his place in the team as the German coach preferred Anthony Elanga.
Nowadays the manager doesn’t think twice about starting Rashford in his strongest XI.
In his first game back after the World Cup, Rashford scored a stunning solo goal against Burnley. He went on to record another goal and assist against Nottingham Forest before making it three in three versus Wolves to prove that he is back to his very best in a United shirt.
Rashford beat competition from Casemiro and Luke Shaw to win Manchester United’s POTM award for December, with 64% of the votes. The Brazilian midfielder came second with 32%, while Shaw collected a mere 4% of the votes.
Congratulations to Rashford – we hope he can pick up more POTM awards before the end of the season!
