It is clear that Erik ten Hag is fearing the worst when it comes to Donny van de Beek injury which he sustained on Tuesday night during the 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

The Manchester United manager admitted after the match that Van de Beek’s injury ‘doesn’t look very good’.

Van de Beek was a surprise inclusion in Tuesday night’s starting eleven — replacing Antony after the Brazilian winger picked up an injury in training ahead of the game — and he made one good tackle in the Bournemouth half before being forced off early.

The Dutch midfielder was left in a heap following a nasty tackle from Marco Senesi, who was lucky not to have been sent off. It was only a matter of time before Van de Beek hobbled off the pitch and he was reduced to tears.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Ten Hag conceded he is already fearing the worst for Van de Beek.

“We need to wait 24 hours, but is it not looking very good,” Ten Hag said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

It comes as a major blow for Van de Beek because he was getting a rare opportunity to start in a league game tonight. That said, I don’t think he pulled up any trees during his short cameo so he did nothing to change the fact his future at United is in doubt.
