Manchester United preparing £53m offer for World Cup finalist

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a £53 million offer for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani.

That is according to L’Equipe, which reported that the Red Devils are keen on bringing the forward to the club this winter. Bayern Munich are also interested but would only pursue a deal in the summer.

The report also suggests the 24-year-old is unwilling to leave the Bundesliga so soon after making the switch at the end of last season, once his contract with Nantes expired.

Erik ten Hag is adamant about signing a striker, though the player has to fit the club’s financial and sporting criteria.

Stretty News’ verdict

Previous reports have suggested that the Reds will only be active on the loan market this transfer window, so it seems out of the blue that they are now preparing such a high offer for Muani.

Still, he looked quality at the World Cup and has scored eight goals and assisted a further 11 at club level for the German side – he would be an excellent option to have in attack.
