Al-Nassr striker touted as potential loan option for Manchester United

Al-Nassr striker Vincent Aboubakar has emerged as a possible January loan option for Manchester United.

It is well known that Manchester United are on the lookout for a new striker in January, although the club does not have the funds required to buy a player on a permanent deal.

Well, not the calibre of player Erik ten Hag is demanding, so he will have to wait until the summer at the very earliest.

That means Ten Hag has no other choice but to settle for a loan option in January.

According to the Daily Mail, Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in Saudi Arabia could trigger a loan exit for Aboubakar, who could become a winter option for Manchester United.

The Cameroon international left Besiktas in 2021 and has registered just two goals and one assist in nine league games in the 2022-23 season. That doesn’t make for very encouraging reading if you ask me, so I hope this story is rubbish. We should be aiming a lot higher than some striker playing in Saudi Arabia, including Ronaldo…

The report also mentions that the Red Devils are monitoring developments with Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.

Another player mentioned as a loan option is Barcelona’s Memphis Depay, which would see the Dutch forward return to Old Trafford, where he initially flopped.
