Marseille are reportedly interested in pursuing a deal for Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri.

The 19-year-old is currently on a season-long loan spell at Birmingham City and has contributed three assists to the side in 19 appearances.

According to The Sun, the Ligue 1 side have registered their interest in the Tunisian and may try to pursue a deal at the end of the 2022/2023 campaign.

When he returns to United in May, Hannibal will likely be seeking regular game time in the first team, having gained experience in the Championship. However, given the current quality in the squad, it may be difficult for Erik ten Hag to utilise the youngster and give him enough minutes on the pitch.

Hannibal’s exit on the cards?

The manager has shown he is willing to sell academy graduates if he does not see them fit into his plans, with the likes of James Garner and Tahith Chong departing in Ten Hag’s first transfer window in charge.

Hannibal has been at the club since 16 but has failed to hit the ground running in the way the hierarchy would have wanted.
