Erik ten Hag handed huge boost after Man United star returns to training

Manchester United’s season is back up and running after the campaign was paused for five weeks to accommodate this winter’s World Cup.

Erik ten Hag’s men have enjoyed a promising return to club football, winning both of their games against Burnley and Nottingham Forest over the last eight days.

The busy festive schedule is more hectic than ever before due to the chaotic World Cup break and Ten Hag will need to make the most out of his full squad.

Diogo Dalot, who had started every competitive fixture for the Reds prior to the last three games, has missed the first two games of the resumption due to an injury he sustained while playing for Portugal in Qatar.

Now, ahead of Saturday’s game against Wolves, Ten Hag has been handed a huge boost as the exciting full-back has returned to full training with the rest of the United squad.

Manchester United published footage from their training session on Friday afternoon and Dalot was spotted on the pitches alongside Victor Lindelof, who was absent against Forest due to illness.

SN’s verdict…
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has impressed in Dalot’s absence, with his acrobatic assist vs Burnley standing out. He was also one of the standout players against Forest.

But it is likely that when Dalot is back up to speed, he will almost immediately be reinstated in the line-up. The Portugal international has exceeded all expectations this season and is believed to be in talks over a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.
