Scott McTominay dreams of being in a United away end with best fans in the world

Scott McTominay has hailed Manchester United’s travelling fans as “the best in the world” and would love to support the club in an away end.

McTominay is a fan-favourite amongst the United faithful, largely due to the fact he is an academy graduate and his love for the Red Devils shows on the pitch.

The Scotland international is not afraid to get stuck into tackles, put his body on the line and celebrate every goal as if it was his own. It is clear that the midfielder grew up a United fan and is living his dream every time he pulls on the red shirt.

United’s away support is regarded as potentially the best in England and Europe. Wherever the match, the Reds will turn up in the masses and be the loudest in the stadium regardless of whether the team is winning or not. Their dedication is unwavering.

McTominay on United’s away support

McTominay has spoken of his desire to join the travelling supporters one time. The likes of Roy Keane, Gary Neville, David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand have all got involved in the past.

He said in this week’s United Review: “I’d love that, I’d absolutely love it. It would be a dream of mine to go in the away end and really experience it, because my family are in the away end every week and they say it’s the best atmosphere they’ve ever been to in their life.

They absolutely love it. Unfortunately for us boys [as players], we can’t quite do that but in the future, I’d love to.”

The 26-year-old went on to detail his family’s love of the club, adding: “My dad loves to go to the games as well. You meet so many different people and you see the same people there all the time too.

“It’s class. The away fans are the best in the world by a mile. I love them.”
